Reminder: City offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, December 24 and 25 in observance of Christmas. They will also be closed December 1 for New Year’s Day.

Doing good and giving back

The city’s Toys for Tots campaign is collecting new toy donations through December 15. Donated toys should be unwrapped but still in their original packaging. Most donations tend to be toys for small children, but there is a large need for children ages 10–12 years old.

Toys for Tots donations can be dropped off at:

  • City Hall: 11360 Lakefield Drive
  • Fire Station #61: 10625 Medlock Bridge Parkway
  • Fire Station #62: 10925 Rogers Circle
  • Fire Station #63: 3165 Old Alabama Road
  • Fire Station #64: 4795 Kimball Bridge Road
  • Park Place: 3125 Old Alabama Road (inside Newtown Park)

Johns Creek is looking for volunteers interested in serving on city boards or committees. A few of the options include Arts, Culture & Entertainment, Recreation & Parks and the Board of Zoning Appeals. Applicants must live in the city of Johns Creek and selected members will be appointed by nomination of the mayor with approval of the city council. Interested parties can apply online for consideration.

Applications are now open for the next Battle of the Bands! Local musicians interested in taking part may apply online. The show will take place March 7, 2026 at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater in Newtown Park.

There’s new artwork on display at city hall, with pieces created by talented instructors from The Art Center. Visitors can view the exhibit during regular city hall hours.

If you’re heading out for the holidays, the Johns Creek Police Department offers a free Vacation Watch Program to check on your property while you’re away. You can sign up for the service online.

Business and Economic Development

The Johns Creek Chamber will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Music Studio on State Bridge Road on December 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., immediately following their weekly Wednesday Networking meetup.

The chamber is also hosting their annual Jingle & Mingle Holiday Party on December 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at YiFan Restaurant. Local professionals, business leaders and community leaders will enjoy drinks, appetizers and the opportunity to network and make new connections. Register online to attend.

There are now fewer than 327 days until the community can #MeetAtMedley. The company behind the new 43-acre mixed-use destination is counting down the days on the Medley Johns Creek website and sharing info on Instagram about the businesses who will be opening in the space next year.
