Approved and announced in 2022, Medley in Johns Creek has plans to be the “first day-to-night destination” in the city, a vibrant “third place” that offers the opportunity to live, work, play, eat and shop in one destination.

The $560 million, 43-acre mixed-use community broke ground in January 2025 with a scheduled opening planned for October 2026.

Dubbed “Medley” for its variety of flavors, experiences and people, the project will include a mix of best-in-class retail, restaurants, fitness and entertainment concepts, as well as a boutique hotel, lifestyle office space, multifamily residences, for-sale townhomes and an activated central plaza.

According to a release about the development, Medley will “infuse resort-style hospitality throughout its walkable streets and community gathering spaces, which will be programmed with more than 200 events each year.”

As the “third place” for Johns Creek, Medley has set its sights on being “the place where people come to gather outside their homes (first place) and offices (second place), to celebrate life’s special moments.”

Location, location, location

Located at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road, Medley is a key component of the city’s planned 192-acre Town Center, which will weave together quality housing, restaurants, retail and offices through new public pathways and parks.

The addition of Medley and the city’s focus on creating an expansive central space for the community is already having a positive ripple effect throughout the area.

Boston Scientific’s new life sciences research and development facility, adjacent to the Medley development, opened earlier this year with plans to bring more than 300 employees to the area.

And one-half mile away, Emory Johns Creek Hospital received approval to more than double its hospital and medical office space over the next 20 years. Two new floors have already been added to the hospital, three floors have been added to the Physicians Plaza building and a 640-space parking deck was built as phase one of the hospital’s planned full expansion.

Recently named the Best U.S. Suburb to Live In by “Travel + Leisure” and The Best Place to Live by “U.S. News & World Report,” Johns Creek seems poised for continued growth, with Medley playing a huge part in providing amenities and experiences to both residents and visitors.

In Medley’s office space, Boehringer Ingelheim, a leader in animal health innovation, will occupy over 70,000 square feet. The space will become the company’s new U.S. headquarters with close to 500 employees when it opens.

With construction fully underway, there are now fewer than 317 days left until Medley’s planned 2026 opening (but who’s counting?).

Their tagline, #MeetUsAtMedley, invites the Johns Creek residents and guests to imagine the space at completion and make plans to meet up and celebrate this new addition to the city. If online posts and comments are any indication, many in the community are ready to do just that.
