When Boehringer Ingelheim @boehringerus officially opened its new U.S. Animal Health headquarters in Johns Creek, company executives were joined by state and local officials, employees, community leaders and even a four-legged member of the Johns Creek Police Department.

It seemed appropriate. After all, the animals — from household pets to livestock — were largely the reason everyone was there.

The Rotary Club of Johns Creek, in partnership with the City of Johns Creek, will host a Patriot Day Commemoration on September 11 — marking 25 years since the tragic events of 9/11/2001. The event honors the services and sacrifices of the first responders and military personnel, and includes a moment of silence and ringing of a memorial bell in honor of the fallen.

The 2026 program will be held at the Newtown Park amphitheater and feature remarks by Captain Tommy Clack (US Army, retired). Mayor John Bradberry, the chief of police, the fire chief and other community leaders will also speak.
