School may be out for the summer, but the learning continues at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve! 🏫🌳 🐢 There, children and adults alike can find plenty of ways to explore the grounds and educate themselves both indoors and out. @autreymill_naturepreserve
Set on 46 acres of a ravine forest and wetland habitat, the preserve is home to hiking trails, landscaped garden areas, a visitor center and the Heritage Village, made up of several restored historical structures.
The preserve stands at the intersection of local history and environmental exploration, offering a well-rounded, place-based approach to learning and fun.

The summer months are a great time to get outdoors with our four-legged friends, but the warmer weather also brings its own challenges and risks. ☀️ From heat and ticks to the stress of thunderstorms and fireworks, there are a few things every pet owner should know to help keep their dogs (and cats) healthy and safe this time of year.
Johns Creek veterinarians Dr. Andras Tigyi from Camden Village Animal Hospital and Dr. Kristie Johansen, Dr. Brittany Taylor, and Dr. Michael Bowes from Haynes Bridge Animal Hospital recently shared their best advice on looking out for our pet companions this summer. @camdenvillageanimalhospital @haynesbridgeah

Later this year, Hollow Oak will open at Medley. The bookstore and specialty shop, founded and owned by Johns Creek resident Katie Bossie, is envisioned as a gathering space, not just for people to shop but to visit, slow down, and build community. @shophollowoak @medleyjohnscreek

Walking into South Forsyth Memorial Chapel for the first time, you won’t find the dimly lit, somber spaces that have long defined funeral homes in the American imagination. Instead, you’ll encounter soaring ceilings with exposed beams, floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light, and an atmosphere that feels more like a boutique hotel or upscale event venue than a traditional funeral home.
“We created it to be a little bit more modern, inviting, and welcoming,” said Shyra Anderson, the location manager and funeral director of South Forsyth Memorial Chapel, which opened its doors in February. “It doesn’t feel like a funeral home. It feels like a celebration space.”
And that’s precisely the point.

What sets Ivy Kids apart is its foundation in educational research and child development science. The school’s multi-prep curriculum is based on Dr. Howard Gardner‘s theory of multiple intelligences, a framework that recognizes that every child learns differently. @ivykidsjohnscreek
“Everyone learns differently,” Karim Badani, owner of Ivy Kids Johns Creek, said. “You may be an audio-visual learner, while I may be a naturalistic learner. There are all these different intelligences, or ways that a human learns, and our curriculum is designed with that in mind. No matter how a child learns, we’re able to meet the child where they are, versus what normally happens in education, the student has to adapt their learning to the teaching style of the teacher.”
