The annual community 5K & Fun Run will take place at Cauley Creek Park on October 17

On October 17 runners, walkers, friends, neighbors and community supporters will gather at Cauley Creek Park for the 3rd Annual JCBC Jaunt, an annual fall event organized and hosted by Johns Creek Baptist Church.

With the goal of bringing people together, raising funds and pouring love back into the community, each year’s race provides a fun way to get outdoors and raise much-needed funds in support of local organizations that serve the community.

In its first year, The Art Center was the recipient, last year funds were raised for Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, and this year’s proceeds will benefit the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra in support of their adaptive efforts.

Registration and race information

Registration for the 5K is open now and includes a JCBC Jaunt t-shirt and swag bag. The registration fee to run in the 5K is $35 per person. There’s no registration fee for the 1 Mile Fun Run, though participants should still sign up for that on the website. JCBC Jaunt t-shirts are available for purchase for Fun Run participants.

The t-shirt cut-off date is October 3, so be sure to register before that date to reserve that special race souvenir. For those who register after the cut-off date, you can ask about t-shirt availability at check-in, in case any are still available.

Check-in and walk-up registrations will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race. Participants will pick up bibs and t-shirts at check-in.

The 5K run begins at 8:30 a.m. The Fun Run starts at 9:45 a.m.

An award ceremony recognizing the Top 3 Male and Female Overall runners and the Top 3 Male and Female runners per age groups (starting at 10 and under all the way up through 70+) will start at 9:45 am. Awards for the Fun Run will be presented following that.

More JCBC Jaunt details

According to organizers, everyone who registers for the 5K is automatically entered into a raffle for some neat prizes, and “the swag bags for 5K registrants are known to be pretty good too.”

Upon turning in to Cauley Creek Park from Bell Road on race day, follow the signs to the 5K staging area. There, runners and spectators will find the event check-in station, parking and bathrooms. Additional parking and bathrooms will be available adjacent to the sports field, a short walk away.

For more information and to register to take part in either race, visit runsignup.com/Race/GA/JohnsCreek/JCBCJaunt5k.
