With six months to the grand opening, the mixed-use community advances with seven new retail signings

Momentum continues at Medley, the 43-acre mixed-use community under construction in Johns Creek. Toro Development Company (TDC) has announced that they have closed on the financing for Medley’s second phase — known as “Encore” — and added seven more best-in-class brands to the community’s roster.

This brings the total number of executed leases to 37, representing 78% of the project’s retail space and 82% of the office space. The milestones come as Medley began its 200-day countdown to the October 29 grand opening.

More about Encore

TDC will officially break ground on Encore on April 14, creating an additional 408 multi-family residences and 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. TDC, along with capital partner Ascentris, a Denver-based real estate private equity firm, closed on the $90 million construction loan for Encore earlier this month.

“Over the next six months, our team is laser focused on Medley’s grand opening and putting the finishing touches on creating a vibrant mixed-use experience for the people of Johns Creek,” said John Kelley, chief development officer for TDC. “With Encore underway, we are seeing Medley’s pedestrian-friendly streets and public realm take shape. We are counting down the days to welcoming the community to its new ‘third place.’”

Newly announced concepts

Warby Parker — a national brand that will bring Johns Creek everything it needs for happier eyes at an affordable price point, including designer-quality glasses, sunglasses, contacts and eye exams.

More about Medley in Johns Creek

Named for its diversity of flavors, experiences and people, Medley is a planned “third place” for the community, located at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road.

At full build-out, the pedestrian-friendly destination will encompass 145,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space designed around the public realm; 881 luxury residences, featuring a mix of townhomes and apartments; a 150-key boutique hotel; 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space; and a 25,000-square-foot Plaza that will host up to 200 events per year.
