City offices closed on Monday, January 19
Just a reminder that Johns Creek city offices will be closed on January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

New signs at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve
The city recently announced that new wayfinding signs have been installed at Autrey Mill, making it easier than ever to explore the trails and grounds of the nature preserve.
“From clear path directions to identifying buildings, these signs make exploring the grounds … simpler and more enjoyable,” stated a city newsletter report about the signage.
Business tax certificate renewals
Johns Creek business owners can now renew their business occupation tax certificates online through the city’s CSS Portal for the 2026 calendar year. The business tax renewals will no longer be mailed. Renewals are due by March 31. Learn more here.
Senior Homestead Exemptions for 2026
The Fulton County Board of Assessors is accepting applications for new senior homestead exemptions for the Fulton County School District, tax year 2026.
Eligible Johns Creek homeowners that are 65 and over may qualify for significant reductions in school property taxes. Seniors must apply for these exemptions by April 1, even if they already have other exemptions.
You can apply online or in person. County staff will review your information and apply all exemptions for which you qualify.
City Project Progress: Abbotts Bridge Road improvements
In a recent email, the city shared updates on the road improvement project on Abbotts Bridge Road (from Parsons Road to Medlock Bridge Road).
The project includes the addition of turn lanes, medians, sidewalks and bike lanes. The additional turn lanes will “provide a safe ingress/egress from neighborhoods and aid in traffic flow for motorists.”
Project location:
Latest progress: crews have installed sidewalk, curb and gutter to sections along Abbotts Bridge.
Upcoming: crews will continue to construct the retaining wall at the curve and will install stacked stone on several other walls throughout the project route.
Timeline: construction is expected to be completed in spring 2027.
