Voices of Light: From Mystery to Masterpiece opens in October
The Johns Creek Chorale recently shared details about its eleventh performance season, Voices of Light: From Mystery to Masterpiece, an exploration of how “choral music illuminates the human experience across centuries, cultures and musical traditions.”
Under the direction of Dr. Nathan Frank, the Chorale is entering the upcoming season with renewed artistic vision, as well as a deep commitment to community connection.
Performance dates and themes
The 2026-2027 season opens on October 18 with “Radiant Mercy: Light, Love and the Human Spirit.” This inspiring program, featuring Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” alongside beautiful works by Eric Whitacre, Maurice Duruflé and Ola Gjeilo, will showcase some of the finest choral music ever written.

December offers two beloved Chorale traditions that highlight the brilliance, joy and reverence of the season:
- “Messiah at the Pub” (on December 6) is a spirited community sing-along of Handel’s masterpiece that continues to grow in popularity each year.
- “Star of Wonder” (on December 12) is a grand holiday celebration featuring children’s and youth choirs, along with the Chorale performing John Rutter’s “Gloria” with the Georgia Brass Band, for an unforgettable collaboration that promises to be a highlight of the season.
The new year will unveil an even wider variety of concert experiences:
- “Broadway Bound: Stories in Song” (on January 31) – Enjoy a vibrant evening that celebrates the world of musical theatre by showcasing the best of Broadway.
- “A Tapestry of Voices” (on February 27) – The Chorale’s women’s choir performs a rich program of folk songs, spirituals and global choral works featuring guest artist Bethany Mamola.
- “Voices Unbound: A Night at the Opera” (on April 25) – The season concludes with a sweeping finale of opera favorites performed by the Chorale with orchestra and soloists.
This season truly offers something for everyone and is sure to be one of the most exciting years in the history of the Johns Creek Chorale.
